Resignation of Superintendent

Dear Runge ISD faculty, staff, and community,

The Runge ISD Board accepted my resignation last night effective December 22nd.  I am posting my resignation letter and this explanation to the website in order to express my sincere appreciation to the board and the community for allowing me to serve as your Interim Superintendent for the past few months.  I have greatly enjoyed my stay here and have developed several new friendships I am confident will last for a long time.  As you can see in my resignation letter, I have a friend who has requested that I come help with a tragic situation at one of her high schools and I feel obligate to do so.  Though my leaving is a bit earlier than we had planned, I feel good about the progress the school has made and confident that Runge ISD is on the path to success.

I have absolute confidence in your Board.  They have shown me that they are dedicated and focused on student performance and improving the education all Runge ISD students receive.  I have also worked closely with your principal, Mr. Kyle Spivey and have been impressed with his dedication to Runge ISD and his determination to improve the performance of all students.  I am pleased that the Board has appointed him to serve as the Interim Superintendent until naming a permanent superintendent later in the year. I believe Mr. Spivey will do an excellent job and hold high hopes that Runge ISD will successfully move fully out of "Intervention Required" status this year.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement.   I ask that you continue to support and encourage the leadership here, they have many challenges ahead but I am confident they will meet them and continue to make good decisions for the district.

Sincerely,

Ronny Beard, EdD
