Runge Elementary Career Exploration Day

Runge Elementary hosted a Career Exploration Day on April 28th. It was a great success due to the variety of careers the kids were introduced to and their excitement, interest, and participation during the presentations. Many of the presenters expounded on various aspects of not just their jobs, but other jobs within their companies. Example: Students associated HEB jobs with bagging groceries, grocery checkers, and shelf stockers. However, they now understand there are jobs in pharmaceutical, meat packing, global buying and the corporate office. Presenters also shared their experiences and helped broaden the students’ understanding of the opportunities locally. Phyllis Vaughan the Elementary Counselor shared, “The presenters made their jobs come to life which in turn caused the students to see themselves in an occupation and dream for the future.”

We would like to thank these individuals for helping us make our Career Exploration day a success at Runge Elementary.
